The Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP) is a State of Texas-funded program administered by the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership. SATOP provides FREE technical assistance to small businesses, start-ups, and entrepreneurs located in Texas. This assistance in turn helps create new jobs, new products for the market, and stimulates the economy.
What Kind of Requests can SATOP Accept?
Requests should be clearly defined and focused on a specific technical issue within one project including, but not limited to, one of the following engineering disciplines:
Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Chemical, Materials, Environmental, Industrial & Structural
SATOP offers FREE Technical Assistance through two programs:
- The 40 Hour Technical Assistance Program
- The Texas A&M Capstone Design Program
SATOP GUIDELINES: PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Requesting entity must be a small business (under 500 employees), owned and operated in Texas.
- Requesting business must have been unable to solve the challenge with the resources available to them.
- Requesting business must be prepared to provide drawings, prototypes, provisional patents, or samples as needed, and must be available to communicate with an Alliance Partner engineer.
- Please note that SATOP cannot work on IT (Information Technology) solutions.
