Our MBDA Business Center

YOUR HISPANIC CHAMBER...WORKING FOR YOU
The mission of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is to be the pre-eminent resource for business and the leading advocate in supporting the growth of the El Paso Border Metroplex.

Your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has remained an effective organization for 28 years because of its efforts to serve the ever-evolving small, minority, women and Veteran-owned business community, in the Border Area. Your Hispanic Chamber believes we each have a fundamental, moral obligation to help each other, and while some of us may rise faster than others, our ultimate goal is that we will rise together, while maintaining our individuality.

Who we are: MBDA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce that helps to create and sustain U.S. jobs by promoting the growth and global competitiveness of businesses owned and operated by minority entrepreneurs. Through a national network of  MBDA Business Centers (yes! you have one here in El Paso) and a wide range of domestic and international strategic partners, we provide Agency clients with technical assistance and access to capital, contract, and new markets opportunities to create new jobs.

Who we serve:Our clients are businesses owned by African Americans, Asian Americans, Hasidic Jews, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders. These companies are fast-growing, innovative, and represented in every industry sector in the United States.

Minority-owned firms contribute over $1.4 trillion in annual economic output to the U.S. economy and directly account for 7.2 million U.S. jobs.

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), a job-creating agency, leads Federal efforts to promote the growth and global competitiveness of America’s minority business community. The El Paso MBC understands and educates our clients in the value of diversification of their businesses. If you are an existing business looking to expand or maintain your growth, contact us today. Read about our services in the Growing my Business Section.

The El Paso MBC also provides valuable research & development, allowing clients to access local and national demographics and statistics, and assisting in marketing analysis and research. We provide assistance to qualified businesses to obtain valuable business certifications, thereby increasing the number of certified businesses for procurement opportunities; and enhancing the ability for growing minority owned businesses to compete for procurement contracts for corporations, local, state, and federal agencies; and provide hands-on bilingual technical assistance to support new markets for small and minority owned businesses.

Since March 31, 2018, we have served 65,116 clients through counseling and training. Through our direct technical assistance, our business development specialists have successfully packaged $462,090,411 in small business loans and we have successfully matched our clients to over $1,439,341,131 in procurement opportunities!  The Chamber currently operates an SBA Women's Business Border Center, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s MBDA Business Center, and we are a Texas Department of Transportation DBE Alliance Program Partner.  We have directly assisted 30,148 entrepreneurs in starting their own business, and have worked with over 33,775 existing businesses to continue to grow!
