Developing and maintaining strategic alliances with purchasing executives and government procurement officials has also been a priority during the time we have successfully operated the El Paso MBC. As recognized MBE resource partners, the El Paso MBC receives solicitations for sources sought, requests for information, and requests for proposals, from many private and public sector businesses and agencies. In the past five years, we have assisted our clients to secure awards totaling $1,012,598,534.70. These range in size from $50,000 to $216,000,000.
Our network of resources for assisting our clients to work with the government include our continued relationship with:

- El Paso County

- U.S. Army Corp of Engineers
- William Beaumont Army Medical Center

- ...among others.
The Center also has a strong relationship with the El Paso 8a and Government Contractors Association. Association members represent all government contractors, not limited to 8(a) certified businesses. The University of Texas at El Paso and the El Paso MBC also work closely to identify vendors and encourage them to become clients of the Center, as well as to utilize the Center for State Hub Certification, which we are certified by the Texas State Comptroller’s office to provide.
Business Xpress: The MBDA Business Center-El Paso regularly hosts Matchmaking Forums and B2B events through Business Xpress Sessions. These are sessions held on an “as needed” basis and feature different procurement officials as speakers. These contracting officers address their forecasted procurement needs for the next year, and teach participants what it will take to work with them, including bonding requirements and capacities, or recognized small business certifications.
Procurement Matchmaking Symposium: Annually, we assist our Strategic Partners in the coordination and execution of the Procurement Matchmaking Symposium. This is a day-long event showcasing workshops and speaker presentations on working with the corporate, local, state, and federal government, and accessing financing. The event features over 100 booth exhibitors, and we are showcased as a vital business resource partner.
El Paso Veteran’s Conference: Annually we assist our Strategic Partners to develop this event that showcases services for Veterans and Service Disabled Veterans in the federal procurement arena, and provides valuable information on lending options. Over 50 federal agencies participate, as well as over 200 Veteran owned and service disabled veteran owned businesses. We are showcased as a vital business resource partner.
