The Women’s Business Border Center (WBBC) established in 2001 is the first Center to be co-located with a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the United States. The Women’s Business Border Center is partially funded by the United States Business Administration (SBA) Office of Women’s Business Ownership (OWBO)

Our Mission
To assist women in achieving their dreams and to improve our community by helping them to start and run successful businesses, regardless of social or financial disadvantage, race, ethnicity or business background.

Did You Know...
Your WBBC is a part of a national initiative promoting entrepreneurship in youth, military and Hispanic entrepreneurs.

The WBBC provides information, training, individual technical assistance and opportunities for not only women but anyone interested in starting or expanding their business. We create opportunities for anyone who wants to access information, personal guidance and insight into business-management skills. We accomplish these through assistance and/or training in finance, management, marketing, procurement and the Internet as well as addressing specialized topics such as home-based business, corporate executive downsizing and welfare-to work.

The Women's Business Border Center is the proud recipient of the
2014 District/Regional Women's Business Center of Excellence Award
given by the Region VI U.S. Small Business Administration.

Your Women’s Business Border Center takes pride in serving individuals who want to start and grow their business and to fulfill the OWBO Mission:

The Office of Women’s Business Ownership’s mission is to enable and empower women entrepreneurs through
advocacy, outreach, education and support. Through the management and technical assistance provided
by the WBCs, entrepreneurs, especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged, are offered
comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics in many languages to help them
start and grow their own businesses.

In 2011, the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been approved for the designation of the Third Party Certifier for the Woman Owned Small Business Federal Contracting Program of the U.S. Small Business Administration. The unique fifteen year partnership with the Women’s Business Border Center has given us the ability to successfully promote and build awareness about the Women Owned Small Business Certification Program that can be processed through the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The Women’s Business Border Center has established at Fort Bliss, Texas (our local military base) since 2007 to meet the needs of the influx of military, spouses, and retiring military who wish to become entrepreneurs. The representatives of the center are included in the weekly spouse orientation to inform the attendees of the center and the overall U.S. SBA Programs.
