The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Climbing the Hill in Washington DC!
El Paso, TX (April, 18, 2016) – Your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be in Washington DC this week along with a delegation of business members. The trip is part of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s annual “HC to DC” marketing trip which coincides with the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Annual Legislative Summit.
“It is important that Congress be aware of the issues that are impacting our border businesses. It is of high importance that we voice our concerns to our legislative leaders and also represent our small business community,” said Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Each year, your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce meets with leading national voices behind businesses as part of an annual marketing trip. During the 2016 “HC to DC” trip, the local delegation will meet with various national leaders and federal agencies to discuss issues pertaining to Regulatory Reform, Contracting, Access to Capital, Small Business and Immigration Reform, SBA budget enhancement and Tax Reform.
The 2016 Business Delegates include: Cindy Ramos-Davidson, CEO, El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Michelle Luevano, Business Development Specialist, El Paso MBDA Business Center, operated by the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Gerry Licon, President, MGB Construction; Yolanda Diaz, President, Mirador Enterprises; Frank Spencer, President of Aztec Contractors; Patricia Castro, President, El Paso JAG; Frank Garcia, President, Perikin Enterprises, and Bernardino Olague, Vice President, LOI Engineering.
“Our participation during this time will strengthen our voice and representation on the nation's future and will make sure our small business issues are near the top of the national business agenda,” added Ramos-Davidson.
In addition to meeting at Capitol Hill and advocating for the business needs of our borderland small businesses, the 2016 marketing trip is also held in partnership with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Legislative Summit. As a USHCC tradition, the legislative summit provides the premier platform for Hispanic business owners, chamber leaders and corporate executives to advocate for the important issues affecting the Hispanic business agenda.
Over the years, USHCC has continued its role as the leading national voice for the Hispanic business community with decision makers from all levels of Congress and the Administration. National leaders seek input from USHCC and consult with its leaders and members as trusted experts on the policy issues of the day. Accordingly, your El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will travel to Washington DC to advocate for businesses from our borderland region.
